8th Dan (Hachidan) awarded by the Dai Nihon Iaido Renmei. The recipient is expected to have a profound knowledge of all aspects of iaido and its practice. The recipient may be eligible from five years after taking Kyoshi and must be at least 51 years old.
The patch for 8th Dan is a black base with silver writing and a purple horizontal stripe.
