Hanshi 8th Dan

Hanshi rank (Grand Master) awarded by the Dai Nihon Iaido Renmei. The recipient is expected to have a profound knowledge of all aspects of iaido and its practice and to have contributed to the Federation. The recipient may be eligible from six years after taking 8th Dan and be at least 58 years old. The rank is normally called “Hanshi Hachidan” (8th Dan Grand Master).
The patch for Hanshi Hachidan is a black base with gold writing and an orange horizontal stripe.
