Hanshi 9th Dan

9th Dan (Kudan) awarded by the Dai Nihon Iaido Renmei. The recipient is expected to have a profound knowledge of all aspects of iaido and its practice and to have contributed to the Federation significantly. The recipient may be eligible from seven years after taking Hanshi and be at least 66 years old. The rank is normally called “Hanshi Kudan” (9th Dan Grand Master).
The patch for Hanshi Kudan is a black base with gold writing and a red horizontal stripe.
